I didn't even know something like this existed!! I always thought that my grouped layers were as neat as the layers were going to get...but alas smart objects, with me always knowing what they were, I never knew what they were for or bothered to learn it...thank you for making this...XDD

While a wonderfully simple tutorial, it should be mentioned that Smart Objects are only available in CS3 Extended and up. ;p

I have a question:
Say, you've got the drawing, and open up part of it as a smart object.
If you close the original file and save the smart object, will the original file change?

Because the image (before product) shown in the tutorial is simple, you can use vector masks and groups instead, save space
