How fitting that my first critique should be on one of my favorite Mega Man characters. This picture's initial impression was one of action, as I assume you intended it to be. Axl's pose, his position over a city, as well as the shine from his guns, simply screams out Here I come!. Which is something Axl would say, I'm sure.
While I'm not a fan of this particular style of art, I must say it was expertly attempted and accomplished. The shading, shine spots and anatomy are spot on, and the impact of only Axl being colored really draws your attention towards him. The lack of other subjects and centering of the focal point on him makes you wonder what he's up to, as well; is he about to blast some unfortunate Maverick? Or is he just goofing around on a day off?
All in all, this picture is an exceptionally well executed piece of art, something the artist should be proud of.
